Weed Train System — Engineer Job, Railway Office & Logbook

VORP & RSG Integration

Bring railway activity to your RedM server with configurable automatic transport and a player-operated locomotive job.

Weed Train combines automated train and tram services with an 1889-style railway office, mouse-controlled shift selection, a paper driving HUD, and a persistent engineer logbook.

Railway Engineer Job

Players can visit the railway clerk, select an available shift, and take control of a managed locomotive.

  • Forward driving, braking, and reverse.
  • Stronger acceleration with W + Shift.
  • Automatic approach assistance at required stops.
  • Server-side stop order, speed, and dwell checks.
  • Configurable payment after completing the route.
  • Map and pause-menu access during the shift.
  • Manual shift cancellation through the railway office.
  • A configurable return-to-cab window, set to 60 seconds by default.
  • NPC takeover when the shift ends, with gradual departure acceleration.

The included East route currently contains three configured stops: Eastern Stop, Northern Stop, and Saint Denis Depot. With the default settings, completion pays $55 and requires 15 seconds of continuous station dwell at each stop.

Route coordinates and track compatibility should be tested on your server.

Railway Office

The native-drawn employment menu uses an aged-paper theme inspired by 1889.

Players can select shifts with the mouse or keyboard, view route stops and payment, end their active shift, and open their engineer logbook.

The office includes a configurable clerk NPC, interaction prompt, location, heading, and map blip.

Persistent Engineer Logbook

Each supported framework character has a separate saved record containing:

  • Completed routes and abandoned shifts.
  • Total route earnings and working time.
  • Experience and rank progression.
  • The last five completed routes.

Completed routes award 100 XP by default. Ranks are prestige-based and do not increase salary.

Logbook storage uses resource KVP. No SQL installation is required.

Automatic Transport Features

  • Configurable East and West train slots.
  • Two configurable Saint Denis tram slots.
  • Configurable passenger fares.
  • Dynamic transport blips.
  • Native and custom automatic station stops.
  • Local visual NPC station boarding scenes.
  • Optional carriage passengers with configurable offsets.
  • Manual railway switches and automatic junction rules.
  • Passenger, Christmas, and fancy train variants.
  • AI driver protection.
  • Transport recovery and duplicate-cleanup mechanisms.
  • Included railway switch map files.

Individual transports can be enabled or disabled in the configuration.

Requirements

  • RedM server with OneSync enabled.
  • VORP Core or RSG Core for the paid engineer job and character logbook.
  • The complete resource installed under the name weed_train.

Automatic travel can operate without a supported framework when fares are disabled or framework-free travel is allowed. The paid engineer job and character logbook require a supported framework.

Configuration

Server owners can configure transport availability, spawn locations, variants, speeds, fares, route stops, dwell times, salaries, job restrictions, cooldowns, acceleration, return-to-cab time, office placement, NPC settings, blips, junctions, and recovery timings.

The default shift HUD and railway office use native game drawing rather than depending on an HTML menu.

Current Release Status

This update is an early-access build. Multiplayer synchronization includes host election, heartbeats, spawn locks, and recovery logic, but operation on a populated server has not been certified.

Known limitations include possible shift interruption during traffic-host loss and ownership contention during NPC handback. No specific player-capacity or performance guarantee is provided.

VORP and RSG integration is included; compatibility with your framework version, RedM artifact, and selected train models should be verified before production deployment.

Important Information

  • Passenger fares are not transferred to the player engineer.
  • Public/private passenger shifts and an E-only ticket-purchase system are not included.
  • Train purchasing, freight inventories, robberies, fuel, and boiler simulation are not included.
  • Station NPC boarding scenes are local visual activity, not synchronized ticket revenue.
  • Other train resources may conflict with model-based duplicate cleanup. Disable that cleanup when testing compatibility with overlapping train models.
  • Back up server KVP storage to preserve logbook records. Copying the resource folder alone does not export progression.
  • Custom routes, junctions, map modifications, and passenger offsets require in-game testing.

Package Contents

  • Complete weed_train resource.
  • Central configuration file.
  • Native railway office, driving HUD, and engineer logbook.
  • Railway switch map files.
  • Installation and gameplay guide.
  • Current release limitations and multiplayer test checklist.
